The 10 most important lessons i have learnt in My life's Journey

The way in which we meet the trials of life depends on the way we inwardly see and believe things to be. If we see things from a purely human point of view, we will be discouraged and defeated.
The vast majority of people don’t achieve anywhere near the “happiness” or “success” they would like ... because they don’t know how to go through the PROCESS that will get them there.

Here is my ultimate 10-step self-improvement guide that will help you achieve the peace, balance and happiness that you are looking for.

  1. Your environment doesn’t define you in any way. Irrespective of whatever may be happening around you at the moment, I have discovered that the way to success starts with examining what we do and what we don't know at all. Its okay, not to know at all! The goal is to analyze and maximize. You can still improve though, and it is good to push yourself to work on the areas of opportunity. If you're a man who makes a ton of money, got a job and education, but you don't take care of your kids...you have room for growth. Likewise, if you are a man who is a good person, go to church, love your mom, but you don't have bread, you have a place you can focus your attention on. We are not perfect, but we can strive to be the best we can be and that process should never really stop.So you are who you are because of who you think you are.
2. You will never get a different result by doing the same thing the same way. Yes, someone defined that as foolishness. If things will change for you, you have to change. Add salt and water 100 times, you will still get a salt solution. Changing ones perception and approach to issues and tasks can bring a lot of improvement and difference in one’s life. If not, things will always remain the same.
3. Consistency is an essential ingredient for success. I have discovered that what brings success is not what we do once in a while but what we do daily. If we take a look at our lives, we would discover that we are not any better than the actions we practice daily. Doing things consistently over a period of time will surely bring result. But if there is something most people lack, its consistency. Some people start a course but never finish it. Some start exercising to develop muscles but it all ends after a week. Remember, only a consistent man/woman gets result.
4. Make friends especially with people on social media. One might think making friends is something that we all learn naturally but am telling you that it involves certain skills that are learnable. In this era of technology, you can easily meet new business partners, customers and even your spouse by just making friends with people online. Am sure you have heard the saying that, “your network is your net worth”. Trust me, this tip can make you a million bucks if done right and with the right intentions...
5. Learning new skills will make your life easier and better. In this era where certificates aren’t worth much, skill acquisition is certainly a no brainer.I am learning each passing day on how to develop my skills in web development and social media. This certainly will position me to utilize the vast amount of opportunities available that most people don’t understand or ignore. Learn a new skill today and you will thank yourself for doing that in the future.
6. Tell everybody about your work or business. This tip applies to anyone who sells something or offers any value people are willing to pay for. Too many times we miss out on opportunities to talk to people due to what I call fear of rejection. If only you will open your mouth, you might be on your way to meeting your biggest client ever.
7. Thinking global is the way to go. How many times have you read about entrepreneurs who have built timeless global organizations? At least you know Apple, Microsoft, google to name a few. If what you do today can’t be required or expanded beyond your local terrain, few years from now, you Will Lose Relevance. Be a global player. As it’s been said frequently, “Dream big, but start small”.
8. Great readers become super leaders. If I asked you, how many books you have read this year (apart from your school books. Lol) will you be proud to mention it? Many people don’t understand the value of reading quality books. Most successful people I know are great readers. When Warren Buffett was once asked about the key to success, he pointed to a stack of nearby books and said, “Read 500 pages like this every day. That’s how knowledge works. It builds up, like compound interest. All of you can do it, but I guarantee not many of you will do it.”
9. Save less and invest more. Some people like saving their money in the bank. My advice to you is to stop doing that. Am not saying saving a bit is bad, but if you find yourself in a country like Ghana where i currently live where the Cedi keeps falling against the dollar, it might be a bad option. If you saved GHC1, 000 in the bank in January by now, your money is worth half of that in value. Instead of only saving, look for great ideas and businesses to invest into like investing in lands, properties,Vegetables and Livestock farming etc. You would be preparing yourself for the future.
10. Health is wealth. The quality of your life is to a great extent determined by what you eat. Many people go for quantity rather than quality. There is a well-known saying that says, “You are what you eat”. The value of good nutrition can’t be over emphasized. We all want to make money but you can’t do that if you are sick and weak. Make your health priority and you will live long to be grateful for it.

In conclusion, life is not a bed of roses, life is tough and you must have a very determined heart and will to survive...I hope you have  learnt something.
